45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Ash Hall has been a leader in the fight for social
67 justice for members of the LGBTQIA+ communities in Texas, and their
78 efforts have made a positive difference in numerous lives; and
89 WHEREAS, A native of Clear Lake, Ash earned a bachelor's
910 degree in psychology with a minor in women's and gender studies from
1011 The University of Texas at Austin, where they participated in a
1112 queer student-advocacy group; they went on to help with campaigns
1213 for pro-equality candidates, including former Houston Mayor Annise
1314 Parker and State Representative Celia Israel, and they have
1415 testified before Texas legislative committees to defend the rights
1516 of LGBTQIA+ Texans; and
1617 WHEREAS, Over the years, Ash has set an inspiring example of
1718 civic engagement, serving as a political manager for the LGBTQ
1819 Victory Fund in Washington, D.C., a legislative fellow and
1920 government relations manager at Equality Texas, a congressional
2021 intern in the office of Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, and a content
2122 manager for the Texas Civil Rights Project; in addition, they have
2223 served as a Democratic precinct chair and a policy advocate; and
2324 WHEREAS, Through their myriad endeavors, Ash Hall has helped
2425 further inclusion and equality in the Lone Star State, and they may
2526 indeed reflect with pride on their many noteworthy accomplishments;
2627 now, therefore, be it
2728 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2829 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Ash Hall for
2930 working in behalf of the LGBTQIA+ communities of Texas; and, be it
3031 further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for Ash as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
3334 of Representatives.
