| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Adelyn Vigil has distinguished herself through her |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A clear and thoughtful communicator with maturity |

| 9 | 10 | | beyond her 13 years, Adelyn has testified before committees in the |

| 10 | 11 | | Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate; she and her family |

| 11 | 12 | | have spent countless hours at the State Capitol in order to help |

| 12 | 13 | | legislators and the public understand the needs of transgender |

| 13 | 14 | | youth and their parents; in addition, she has raised awareness on a |

| 14 | 15 | | national level by sharing her story with such media outlets as Teen |

| 15 | 16 | | Vogue and CBS, explaining how policies and prejudices have |

| 16 | 17 | | interfered with her daily life at school and hindered her ability to |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Adelyn is the daughter of proud parents Adamalis |

| 19 | 20 | | Vigil and Antonio Vigil Jr., and she is further supported by the |

| 20 | 21 | | love and encouragement of an older brother, Antonio, and a younger |

| 21 | 22 | | brother, Allek, as well as a large extended family; kind and |

| 22 | 23 | | studious, she loves taking care of her animals, reading, cooking, |

| 23 | 24 | | and shopping with her mom; her interest in astronomy may guide her |

| 24 | 25 | | career choice one day, though her determination to make a positive |

| 25 | 26 | | difference may lead her to become a civil rights attorney or elected |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, By courageously speaking out on urgent legislative |

| 28 | 29 | | issues, Adelyn Vigil has helped ensure that the voices of |

| 30 | 31 | | inspiration to numerous people in the Lone Star State and beyond; |
