5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Sunny Bryant of Houston has distinguished herself |

6 | 7 | | through her exceptional work as an advocate for the transgender |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Accompanied by her mother, Rebekah Bryant, Sunny has |

9 | 10 | | spent many hours inside the State Capitol in 2021, testifying at |

10 | 11 | | hearings before members of the Texas House of Representatives and |
---|
11 | 12 | | the Texas Senate; an effective communicator with maturity beyond |
---|
12 | 13 | | her eight years, she has offered valuable input on legislation |
---|
13 | 14 | | concerning transgender students such as herself, and her story has |
---|
14 | 15 | | been shared by national and local TV stations; and |

15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Sunny is an outstanding student who loves to read |

16 | 17 | | and knit; moreover, she is passionate about playing a wide range of |

17 | 18 | | sports and has offered thoughtful testimony on bills that would |

18 | 19 | | hinder her ability to participate in athletics; and |

19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, By courageously speaking out on urgent legislative |

20 | 21 | | issues, Sunny Bryant has helped ensure that the voices of |

21 | 22 | | transgender students will not be silenced, and she is a source of |

22 | 23 | | inspiration to numerous people in the Lone Star State and beyond; |

24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

25 | 26 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Sunny Bryant for |
