44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, LGBTQIA+ students demonstrated remarkable courage
66 and initiative by testifying at the Texas State Capitol on behalf of
77 the rights of the LGBTQIA+ communities during the 2021 legislative
88 sessions; and
99 WHEREAS, Traveling to Austin from across the Lone Star State,
1010 these outstanding young Texans appeared before House and Senate
1111 committees and spoke with admirable passion and eloquence on urgent
1212 legislative matters of great import to the LGBTQIA+ communities,
1313 and their testimony ensured that the voices of LGBTQIA+ young
1414 people will not be silenced; and
1515 WHEREAS, The students who testified included Charlie,
1616 Kayden, Sunny, Clara, Ben, Indigo, Libby, Laura, Landon, Grayson,
1717 Kai, Maya, Eli, and Adelyn; and
1818 WHEREAS, Each of these young LGBTQIA+ leaders has helped
1919 further inclusion and equality in the Lone Star State, and they may
2020 indeed take pride in knowing that their bravery, commitment, and
2121 determination are an inspiration to all Texans; now, therefore, be
2222 it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2424 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the LGBTQIA+ young
2525 people who testified before the Texas Legislature in 2021 and
2626 extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
2727 further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
3030 Texas House of Representatives.
