| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Irene Lucy Lorrine Mlcak of Sealy passed away on |

| 6 | 7 | | September 23, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving her loved ones to |

| 7 | 8 | | cherish their memories of this gracious and loving woman; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The former Irene Peters was born in Holman on |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | December 11, 1931, to John and Mary Peters; she grew up in Sealy, |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | graduating from Sealy High School in 1950, and she went on to marry |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Alphonse Mlcak in 1951; she was a devoted mother to her five |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | children, Donna, Suzanne, Becky, Steven, and Chris, and later in |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | life, she experienced the joy of welcoming into her family numerous |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Mlcak worked in retail and in the rectory at |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and she held membership in |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and a local quilt guild; a |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | gifted seamstress, she made clothing for all of her children when |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | they were growing up, and she demonstrated her talent and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | creativity through many quilting and needlework projects over the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | years; she also enjoyed reading, adding to her array of holiday |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | collectibles, and tending to her garden; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Irene Mlcak lived a caring and purposeful life, and |

| 24 | 25 | | she will forever be remembered with warmest affection by all who |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | held her close to their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
