| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Emilio Garza is retiring as the Live Oak County |

| 6 | 7 | | commissioner for Precinct 4 in 2021, drawing to a close an exemplary |

| 7 | 8 | | tenure that has spanned nearly three and a half decades; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, First elected to the Live Oak County Commissioners |

| 9 | 10 | | Court in November 1986, Mr. Garza took office on January 1, 1987; as |

| 10 | 11 | | a county commissioner, he has been responsible for overseeing a |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | wide range of programs and services in his precinct as well as for |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | policy-making budget decisions; among his many accomplishments, he |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | played an instrumental role in the planning and development of the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | FCI Three Rivers medium security federal correctional institution; |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Garza brought a wealth of expertise to his |

| 17 | 18 | | commissioner's seat, having previously served as a member of the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | George West City Council; he also gained experience by helping to |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | operate his family's business; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | excellence demonstrated by Emilio Garza have greatly benefited the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | residents of Live Oak County, and he may indeed reflect with pride |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | on his many contributions as he embarks on the next exciting chapter |

| 24 | 25 | | of his life; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Emilio Garza |
