45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Emilio Garza is retiring as the Live Oak County
67 commissioner for Precinct 4 in 2021, drawing to a close an exemplary
78 tenure that has spanned nearly three and a half decades; and
89 WHEREAS, First elected to the Live Oak County Commissioners
910 Court in November 1986, Mr. Garza took office on January 1, 1987; as
1011 a county commissioner, he has been responsible for overseeing a
1112 wide range of programs and services in his precinct as well as for
1213 policy-making budget decisions; among his many accomplishments, he
1314 played an instrumental role in the planning and development of the
1415 FCI Three Rivers medium security federal correctional institution;
1516 and
1617 WHEREAS, Mr. Garza brought a wealth of expertise to his
1718 commissioner's seat, having previously served as a member of the
1819 George West City Council; he also gained experience by helping to
1920 operate his family's business; and
2021 WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to
2122 excellence demonstrated by Emilio Garza have greatly benefited the
2223 residents of Live Oak County, and he may indeed reflect with pride
2324 on his many contributions as he embarks on the next exciting chapter
2425 of his life; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2627 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Emilio Garza
2728 on his retirement as the Precinct 4 commissioner of the Live Oak
2829 County Commissioners Court and extend to him sincere best wishes
2930 for the future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Mr. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3233 House of Representatives.
