| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and enthusiasm drew to a close |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | with the passing of Daniel Avitua of Plano on October 12, 2021, at |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the age of 47; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Tony and Evelyn Avitua, Dan Avitua was |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | born in Omaha, Nebraska, on October 3, 1974; growing up in a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | military family, he lived in a variety of overseas locations during |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | his youth, and he earned an engineering degree from Texas Tech |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | University in 1998; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Employed as an electrical sales engineer, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Mr. Avitua enjoyed a successful career with Siemens, working at the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | company for more than two decades; he was recently honored with an |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Outstanding Achievement of the Year award for his strong work ethic |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and determination; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Avitua and his wife, Sarah, exchanged wedding |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | vows on May 31, 2008, and they shared a rewarding marriage that |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | spanned 13 years; his family and his faith were at the center of his |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | life, and he was a devoted father to his two daughters, Sadie and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Lyla; in his leisure hours, he enjoyed cheering on the Dallas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Cowboys and the Texas Tech Red Raiders and spending time with his |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | friends and loved ones; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Although Dan Avitua is deeply missed, memories of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | his joyful and humble spirit and his abiding concern for others |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | therefore, be it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Daniel Avitua and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | his family: to his wife, Sarah; to his daughters, Sadie and Lyla; to |

| 34 | 34 | | his parents, Tony and Evelyn Avitua; to his sisters, Suzanne Gracia |
