66 WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and enthusiasm drew to a close
77 with the passing of Daniel Avitua of Plano on October 12, 2021, at
88 the age of 47; and
99 WHEREAS, The son of Tony and Evelyn Avitua, Dan Avitua was
1010 born in Omaha, Nebraska, on October 3, 1974; growing up in a
1111 military family, he lived in a variety of overseas locations during
1212 his youth, and he earned an engineering degree from Texas Tech
1313 University in 1998; and
1414 WHEREAS, Employed as an electrical sales engineer,
1515 Mr. Avitua enjoyed a successful career with Siemens, working at the
1616 company for more than two decades; he was recently honored with an
1717 Outstanding Achievement of the Year award for his strong work ethic
1818 and determination; and
1919 WHEREAS, Mr. Avitua and his wife, Sarah, exchanged wedding
2020 vows on May 31, 2008, and they shared a rewarding marriage that
2121 spanned 13 years; his family and his faith were at the center of his
2222 life, and he was a devoted father to his two daughters, Sadie and
2323 Lyla; in his leisure hours, he enjoyed cheering on the Dallas
2424 Cowboys and the Texas Tech Red Raiders and spending time with his
2525 friends and loved ones; and
2626 WHEREAS, Although Dan Avitua is deeply missed, memories of
2727 his joyful and humble spirit and his abiding concern for others
2828 remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now,
2929 therefore, be it
3030 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3131 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
3232 Daniel Avitua and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of
3333 his family: to his wife, Sarah; to his daughters, Sadie and Lyla; to
3434 his parents, Tony and Evelyn Avitua; to his sisters, Suzanne Gracia
3535 and Angela Avitua; to his brother, Jeffrey Avitua; to his
3636 father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Nancy Johnson; to his
3737 sisters-in-law, Beth Williams and her husband, Jeremy, and Mary
3838 Curtis and her husband, Adam; to his brother-in-law, Matt Johnson,
3939 and his wife, Julie; and to his other relatives and many friends;
4040 and, be it further
4141 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4242 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4343 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dan Avitua.
