| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Andreas Giannitsopoulos was born in Houston on |

| 11 | 12 | | September 21, 1999; throughout his life, he was blessed with the |

| 12 | 13 | | affection of a wide circle of loved ones, including his father, |

| 13 | 14 | | Kosta, his mother, Tina, and his younger sister, Athanasia, as well |

| 14 | 15 | | as his grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins, and friends in |

| 15 | 16 | | Texas, Greece, and around the world; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, An outstanding student-athlete, |

| 17 | 18 | | Mr. Giannitsopoulos excelled in track and field at St. Michael |

| 18 | 19 | | Catholic School and at St. Thomas High School; after attending |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Baylor University for a year, he transferred to Vanderbilt |

| 20 | 21 | | University to study economics; he was set to begin his senior year |

| 21 | 22 | | at Vanderbilt, where he had earned selection to the dean's list, and |

| 22 | 23 | | he planned to ultimately obtain a master of business administration |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Giannitsopoulos took great pride in his Greek |

| 25 | 26 | | Orthodox heritage, and he practiced his faith in his daily life; a |

| 26 | 27 | | talented gardener, he was passionate about tending to the |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | greenhouse and the plants he cultivated in his father's backyard; |

| 28 | 29 | | moreover, he enjoyed fishing, caring for birds and other animals, |

| 29 | 30 | | and watching the Food Network; and |

| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Beloved for his heart of gold, Andreas |

| 31 | 32 | | Giannitsopoulos possessed a generosity of spirit that expressed |

| 32 | 33 | | itself in myriad ways, and he enriched the lives of many people with |

| 33 | 34 | | his warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be it |

| 34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
