45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Arthur John Polchinski Jr., an esteemed member of
67 the Temple community and a friend to many, passed away on September
78 14, 2021, at the age of 61; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of Arthur Polchinski Sr. and Elisabeth
910 Polchinski, Arti Polchinski was born at Fort Jay on Governor's
1011 Island in New York on September 17, 1959; he grew up in a military
1112 family with seven siblings, William, Joseph, Rosie, Mary, Helen,
1213 Dorothy, and Teresa, and graduated from Ansbach American High
1314 School in Germany; a talented athlete, he was scouted by the
1415 Milwaukee Brewers and received a baseball scholarship to the
1516 University of Nevada, Reno; he went on to attend the University of
1617 Mary Hardin-Baylor; and
1718 WHEREAS, While employed in Central Texas as a recreational
1819 therapist for Baylor Scott and White Health, Mr. Polchinski met his
1920 future wife, Susan; the couple became the proud parents of a son,
2021 Avery, and a daughter, Abby; and
2122 WHEREAS, Mr. Polchinski later worked for Wilsonart for many
2223 years; dedicated to the youth of the community, he eventually
2324 joined the staff of Hector P. Garcia Elementary School as a physical
2425 education paraprofessional; he was a nurturing and supportive
2526 presence, and he set a positive example for the students through his
2627 kind and gentle ways; and
2728 WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. Polchinski coached many
2829 different sports, and he was involved in swim lessons at UMHB and in
2930 programs at Ralph Wilson Youth Club; a member of the Temple
3031 Quarterback Club, he also assisted with coaching and events at
3132 St. Mary's Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Catholic High School;
3233 his greatest passion was helping others, and his warm smile and
3334 wonderful sense of humor brightened the days of innumerable people;
3435 and
3536 WHEREAS, Arti Polchinski lived a rich and purposeful life
3637 centered around his family and his community, and he will long be
3738 remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now, therefore,
3839 be it
3940 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
4041 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
4142 Arthur John Polchinski Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to his loved
4243 ones; and, be it further
4344 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4445 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4546 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Arti
4647 Polchinski.
