5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Arthur John Polchinski Jr., an esteemed member of |

6 | 7 | | the Temple community and a friend to many, passed away on September |

7 | 8 | | 14, 2021, at the age of 61; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Arthur Polchinski Sr. and Elisabeth |
---|
9 | 10 | | Polchinski, Arti Polchinski was born at Fort Jay on Governor's |
---|
10 | 11 | | Island in New York on September 17, 1959; he grew up in a military |
---|
11 | 12 | | family with seven siblings, William, Joseph, Rosie, Mary, Helen, |
---|
12 | 13 | | Dorothy, and Teresa, and graduated from Ansbach American High |
---|
13 | 14 | | School in Germany; a talented athlete, he was scouted by the |
---|
14 | 15 | | Milwaukee Brewers and received a baseball scholarship to the |
---|
15 | 16 | | University of Nevada, Reno; he went on to attend the University of |
---|
16 | 17 | | Mary Hardin-Baylor; and |
---|
17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, While employed in Central Texas as a recreational |
---|
18 | 19 | | therapist for Baylor Scott and White Health, Mr. Polchinski met his |
---|
19 | 20 | | future wife, Susan; the couple became the proud parents of a son, |
---|
20 | 21 | | Avery, and a daughter, Abby; and |
---|
21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Polchinski later worked for Wilsonart for many |
---|
22 | 23 | | years; dedicated to the youth of the community, he eventually |
---|
23 | 24 | | joined the staff of Hector P. Garcia Elementary School as a physical |
---|
24 | 25 | | education paraprofessional; he was a nurturing and supportive |
---|
25 | 26 | | presence, and he set a positive example for the students through his |
---|
26 | 27 | | kind and gentle ways; and |
---|
27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. Polchinski coached many |
---|
28 | 29 | | different sports, and he was involved in swim lessons at UMHB and in |
---|
29 | 30 | | programs at Ralph Wilson Youth Club; a member of the Temple |
---|
30 | 31 | | Quarterback Club, he also assisted with coaching and events at |
---|
31 | 32 | | St. Mary's Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Catholic High School; |
---|
32 | 33 | | his greatest passion was helping others, and his warm smile and |
---|
33 | 34 | | wonderful sense of humor brightened the days of innumerable people; |
---|

35 | 36 | | WHEREAS, Arti Polchinski lived a rich and purposeful life |

36 | 37 | | centered around his family and his community, and he will long be |

37 | 38 | | remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now, therefore, |

39 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

40 | 41 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
