45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Kevin Raines was elected as mayor of the City of
67 Rosenberg on May 1, 2021; and
78 WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Mayor Raines
89 draws on a wealth of valuable experience; this committed public
910 official won election to the Rosenberg City Council in June 2019,
1011 and he was named mayor pro tem later that month and again the
1112 following year; he has further contributed to the city as a member
1213 of the Parks and Recreation Board, the Rosenberg Development
1314 Corporation Board, the Fort Bend Economic Development Council, and
1415 various other committees; and
1516 WHEREAS, A resident of Rosenberg since the early 1990s, Mayor
1617 Raines worked for the city's police department for nearly two
1718 decades, serving as a patrol officer, patrol sergeant, and
1819 detective before retiring in 2011; in all his endeavors, he enjoys
1920 the love and support of his wife, Lisa, and their three daughters;
2021 and
2122 WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
2223 able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Kevin Raines
2324 may reflect with pride on his accomplishments as he takes on the
2425 challenges and opportunities of his role as mayor; now, therefore,
2526 be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2728 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Kevin Raines
2829 on his election as mayor of Rosenberg and extend to him sincere best
2930 wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be it
3031 further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for Mayor Raines as an expression of high regard by the
3334 Texas House of Representatives.
