10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The son of William Shea and Wanda Jennings Shea, |

11 | 12 | | Bryan Shea was born in Clear Lake on August 14, 1986, and moved to |

12 | 13 | | Humble on his first birthday; he grew up with the company of a |

13 | 14 | | brother, Thomas, and graduated from Humble High School, where he |
---|
14 | 15 | | was a manager and spirit leader for the soccer team; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, While a student at the University of Houston, |
---|
16 | 17 | | Mr. Shea served as an intern in the district office of State |
---|
17 | 18 | | Representative Dan Huberty through the UH Civic Houston Internship |
---|
18 | 19 | | Program; his many responsibilities included constituent relations, |
---|
19 | 20 | | and he helped an 87-year-old woman keep her house when threatened |
---|
20 | 21 | | with foreclosure by a homeowners association; after completing his |
---|
21 | 22 | | bachelor's degree in political science, he maintained his |
---|
22 | 23 | | engagement in civic life, serving with the Friends of Dan Huberty |
---|
23 | 24 | | campaign; he was an ardent supporter of Second Amendment rights and |
---|
24 | 25 | | had the ability to clearly articulate his strong convictions on a |
---|
25 | 26 | | variety of matters; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Shea gained early experience as a file clerk at |
---|
27 | 28 | | the Patterson, Boyd, and Lowery law firm in Houston, and he provided |
---|
28 | 29 | | transportation for patients of MD Anderson Cancer Center; later, he |
---|
29 | 30 | | was employed by the Texas Medical Center; he was an avid fan of UH |
---|
30 | 31 | | sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and soccer, and |
---|
31 | 32 | | he enjoyed spending time with his friends, who will miss his |
---|
32 | 33 | | ever-present smile; and |
---|
33 | 34 | | WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Bryan Shea |
---|
34 | 35 | | leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far |
---|
35 | 36 | | richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured |
---|
36 | 37 | | place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

37 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

38 | 39 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |

39 | 40 | | Bryan Edward Shea and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn |
