| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Aledo Independent School District Board of |

|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade is the highest honor |

| 9 | 10 | | conferred by TASA, which launched its awards program in 1971 to |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | acknowledge school boards that have demonstrated an exceptional |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | commitment to their students and their communities; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Chosen from among five finalists, the Aledo ISD |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | board was commended for its teamwork and cohesion; the evaluating |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | committee noted that members prepared thoroughly for meetings and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | worked well together even when disagreements arose; building trust |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | among residents of the community, the board has remained focused as |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | a group on student learning and academic achievement; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The committee also praised the eight members for |

| 19 | 20 | | seeking out training opportunities in order to deepen their |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | understanding of curriculum and their ability to identify and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | support high-quality instruction in the classroom; in addition, the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | board was commended for its fiscal responsibility and skill in |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | managing change in the rapidly growing district; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to promoting educational excellence, the |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | members of the Aledo ISD Board of Trustees are helping area youth |

| 26 | 27 | | reach their full potential, and they are richly deserving of this |

| 27 | 28 | | notable honor; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Aledo |
