| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Bobbie Garza-Hernandez was presented with a |

| 7 | 7 | | Lifetime Achievement Award by the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | American Cultural Center on September 17, 2021; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade was established in 2009 by |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the ESB-MACC advisory board to recognize leaders in the Austin |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | community who have made meaningful contributions in the Latino |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | cultural arts; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Garza-Hernandez is the owner of Pink |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Consulting, which provides communication services for large-scale |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | public and private projects and has become a leader in outreach to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | disenfranchised and minority communities; moreover, she has served |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | as president of the Austin Women's Political Caucus and is |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | currently the public relations and development consultant for the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Indigenous Cultures Institute; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of St. Edward's University, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Ms. Garza-Hernandez previously worked for the City of Austin for |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | more than 12 years, including five years as an executive assistant |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | for former mayor Gus Garcia; in addition to playing a key role in |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | initiatives related to affordable housing, minority contracting, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and youth services, she was integral in the establishment of the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | MACC and helped to secure the property for the center; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedication, visionary leadership, and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | deep commitment to her community, Bobbie Garza-Hernandez has |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | greatly benefited her fellow citizens, and this most recent honor |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | is a fitting acknowledgement of her outstanding record of service; |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Bobbie |

| 34 | 34 | | Garza-Hernandez on her receipt of a Lifetime Achievement Award from |
