| 8 | 9 | | honored by the Black Academy of Arts and Letters in Dallas; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Cavin Yarbrough and Alisa Peoples first met as |

| 10 | 11 | | children, when they were both taking lessons from the same music |

| 11 | 12 | | teacher in Dallas, and they also attended the same church, where |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | they each sang solos with the choir; steeped in gospel music, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Ms. Peoples performed with her family's group, the Peoples Singers, |

| 14 | 15 | | and with a community choir, the Chorale Ensemble; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Yarbrough embarked on a career as a musician, |
