45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort
67 those saddened by the death of Robert L. Borth of Wills Point on
78 September 30, 2021, at the age of 80; and
89 WHEREAS, The eldest son of Archie and Helen Borth, Bob Borth
910 was born in Childress on January 17, 1941, and he grew up in
1011 Carlsbad, New Mexico; while in high school, he participated in the
1112 ROTC program and was a member of the rifle and drill squad and a
1213 company commander; following his graduation in 1959, he joined the
1314 United States Air Force and became an intelligence analyst; over
1415 the course of his 20-year military career, he served tours of duty
1516 in Turkey, Japan, Germany, and Greece; he was stationed in San
1617 Antonio when he retired in 1979 at the rank of master sergeant; this
1718 dedicated airman was awarded two Air Force Commendation Medals and
1819 a Meritorious Service Medal; and
1920 WHEREAS, Mr. Borth was a longtime member of the board of
2021 directors for the Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial, and he
2122 further served his fellow veterans as a junior vice commander and
2223 treasurer of the Canton VFW Post 1231; and
2324 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Borth enjoyed the love and
2425 support of his wife, Mary Ann, with whom he shared a rewarding union
2526 that spanned 57 years; he took great pride in his daughter, Janie,
2627 and with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family
2728 grow to include four grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristeena, Joshua,
2829 and Kenneth, and seven great-grandchildren; and
2930 WHEREAS, Bob Borth was a proud military veteran, a devoted
3031 family man, and a friend to many, and the contributions he made in
3132 each of these roles will long inspire all those whose lives he
3233 forever enriched; now, therefore, be it
3334 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3435 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
3536 of Robert L. Borth and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn
3637 his passing; and, be it further
3738 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3839 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3940 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bob Borth.
