| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort |

| 6 | 7 | | those saddened by the death of Robert L. Borth of Wills Point on |

| 7 | 8 | | September 30, 2021, at the age of 80; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The eldest son of Archie and Helen Borth, Bob Borth |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | was born in Childress on January 17, 1941, and he grew up in |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Carlsbad, New Mexico; while in high school, he participated in the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | ROTC program and was a member of the rifle and drill squad and a |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | company commander; following his graduation in 1959, he joined the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | United States Air Force and became an intelligence analyst; over |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | the course of his 20-year military career, he served tours of duty |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | in Turkey, Japan, Germany, and Greece; he was stationed in San |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Antonio when he retired in 1979 at the rank of master sergeant; this |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | dedicated airman was awarded two Air Force Commendation Medals and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | a Meritorious Service Medal; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Borth was a longtime member of the board of |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | directors for the Van Zandt County Veterans Memorial, and he |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | further served his fellow veterans as a junior vice commander and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | treasurer of the Canton VFW Post 1231; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Borth enjoyed the love and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | support of his wife, Mary Ann, with whom he shared a rewarding union |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | that spanned 57 years; he took great pride in his daughter, Janie, |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | and with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | grow to include four grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristeena, Joshua, |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | and Kenneth, and seven great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Bob Borth was a proud military veteran, a devoted |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | family man, and a friend to many, and the contributions he made in |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | each of these roles will long inspire all those whose lives he |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | forever enriched; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|---|
| 35 | 36 | | of Robert L. Borth and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn |
|---|
| 36 | 37 | | his passing; and, be it further |

| 37 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

|---|
