| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Williamson County are mourning the loss |

| 6 | 7 | | of Constable Kevin Stofle, who passed away on September 13, 2021, at |

| 7 | 8 | | the age of 62; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Bill and Earnestine Stofle, Kevin Stofle |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | was born in Sherman on February 21, 1959; after graduating from |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Whitesboro High School and the Texoma Police Academy, he joined the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Whitesboro Police Department at the age of 19; he was hired by the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Georgetown Police Department in 1982 and rose to become assistant |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | chief of police; in addition, he served the city as emergency |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | management coordinator; he retired in 2012 and was appointed county |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | constable for Precinct 3 the following year; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Constable Stofle was known for his thoughtfulness |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | and compassion, as well his courage and commanding presence, and he |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | excelled as a conflict resolution mediator and instructor; a |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | graduate of the FBI National Academy, he was licensed as a master |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | peace officer and law enforcement instructor; he served for six |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | years as lead instructor for the Texas Institute of Public Problem |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Solving at The University of Texas at Austin LBJ School of Public |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Affairs, and he traveled across the country and to Brazil as a lead |

| 24 | 25 | | instructor for the United States Department of Justice; quiet and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | humble for all his accomplishments, he was a role model and caring |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | mentor to countless younger officers over the course of a career |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | that spanned four decades; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Deeply committed to his community, Constable Stofle |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | volunteered for Project Graduation for more than 40 years and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | served on the board of Habitat for Humanity; he was a youth baseball |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | coach, Georgetown Independent School District mentor, and a Master |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | Mason with the San Gabriel Masonic Lodge No. 89; moreover, he was a |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | valued member of Celebration Church, serving in numerous |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | capacities; above all, he was devoted to his wife of 26 years, Laura |
|---|
| 35 | 36 | | Hawes Stofle, and their four children, Bryan Stofle, Amanda Alff, |
|---|
| 36 | 37 | | Colt Stofle, and Lauren Stofle, as well as four grandchildren, |
|---|
| 37 | 38 | | Stephen, Elizabeth, Kase, and Kash; he also leaves to cherish his |
|---|
| 38 | 39 | | memory his parents, his sister, Debbie Patterson, his nephews, Jeff |
|---|
| 39 | 40 | | and Jared Patterson, and many other relatives and friends; and |
|---|
| 40 | 41 | | WHEREAS, Kevin Stofle earned the admiration of all who knew |

| 41 | 42 | | him, and his kindness, integrity, and unyielding dedication to |

| 42 | 43 | | public safety will remain a source of tremendous inspiration to |

| 43 | 44 | | those he left behind; now, therefore, be it |

| 44 | 45 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 45 | 46 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |

| 46 | 47 | | Williamson County Constable Kevin Stofle and extend sincere |

| 47 | 48 | | condolences to his loved ones; and, be it further |
