| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Yancy Williams of |

| 6 | 7 | | Livingston were deeply saddened by his death on October 5, 2021, at |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Yancy Williams was born in Houston on August 18, |

| 9 | 10 | | 1967, to Ed Williams and Henrietta Patterson, and he grew up with |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | the companionship of four siblings, Chadrick, Pattie, Keisha, and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Ora; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Williams |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1983 and the Army Reserve in |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | 1993; over the course of his military career, he served in |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Operations Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Iraqi Freedom; he went |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | on to work as a line technician with Sam Houston Electric |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Cooperative for 30 years; deeply dedicated to his community, he was |

| 18 | 19 | | also a firefighter with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department; |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Williams enjoyed the love |

| 21 | 22 | | and support of his wife, Tammy, and he took great pride in his |

| 22 | 23 | | children, Crystal and Yancy; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Yancy Williams lived a caring and purposeful life, |

| 24 | 25 | | and he leaves behind a record of service that his loved ones can |

| 25 | 26 | | remember with pride; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
