| 6 | 7 | | of Angelita Perez Garza of Corpus Christi, who passed away on |

| 7 | 8 | | January 17, 2020, at the age of 92; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Jesus and Maria Perez, Angelita |

| 9 | 10 | | Perez was born on January 9, 1928, and she grew up with two |

| 10 | 11 | | siblings, Tiburcio and Maria Anita; she was a loving wife to Jose |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Valdemar Garza and a devoted mother to her 11 children, Isabel, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Lupe, Richard, Jose, Abelardo, Roland, Rene, Johnny, Deborah Ann, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Daniel, and the late Belinda I. Garza; with the passing years, she |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | was further blessed with 31 grandchildren and 49 |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | great-grandchildren; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Following the sudden death of her husband in 1974, |

| 17 | 18 | | Ms. Garza became the sole provider for her family, working long |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | hours seven days a week as a maid for prominent local businessmen |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | and politicians, including former Governor Ann Richards; through |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | her example and her teaching, she instilled in her children the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | values of discipline, loyalty, respect, love of family, service to |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | others, and a deep religious faith; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Inspired by her Lipan Apache heritage to help fellow |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | community members in need, Ms. Garza contributed her time and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | talents to the Memorial Hospital Senior Volunteer Program and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Senior Community Services; she was also a member of the Sacred Heart |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Society at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory, Texas, |

| 28 | 29 | | and the Diocese of Corpus Christi; in addition, she greatly enjoyed |

| 29 | 30 | | folklorico dancing; and |

| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Courageous, steadfast, and generous, Angelita Garza |

| 31 | 32 | | lived a caring and purposeful life centered around her family and |

| 32 | 33 | | her community, and those who held her dear will forever remember the |

| 33 | 34 | | warmth and kindness she brought into their lives; now, therefore, |
