| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Each autumn, the TEF awards gala raises funds for |

| 10 | 11 | | student scholarships and innovative teaching grants; the event also |

| 11 | 12 | | offers an opportunity for the foundation to honor distinguished |

| 12 | 13 | | alumni who have gone on to successful careers; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A 1972 graduate of Temple High School, Earl |

| 14 | 15 | | Nottingham is widely considered one of the preeminent photographers |

| 15 | 16 | | in Texas; he attended The Art Institute of Atlanta and earned a |

| 16 | 17 | | bachelor's degree in photography from East Texas State University, |

| 17 | 18 | | and after working as a successful freelancer, he became chief |

| 18 | 19 | | photographer for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in 1996; |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his impressive 25-year career |

| 21 | 22 | | with TPWD, Mr. Nottingham journeyed to every corner of the Lone |

| 22 | 23 | | Star State, creating a vivid visual record of its sweeping |

| 23 | 24 | | landscapes, fascinating people, and many historical treasures; he |

| 24 | 25 | | retired from TPWD in 2021, and he continues to shoot professional |

| 25 | 26 | | assignments and teach photography workshops; he is also a popular |

| 26 | 27 | | public speaker; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, A proud son of Temple, Earl Nottingham has built |

| 28 | 29 | | upon the strong educational foundation he received in the |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | community's schools to pursue an impressive and fulfilling career, |

| 30 | 31 | | and he is a worthy recipient of this prestigious award; now, |

| 32 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
