7 | 7 | | relating to an appropriation of certain federal coronavirus relief |

8 | 8 | | money for paying down the state's unemployment insurance debt. |

9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION: UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION FUND. |
---|
11 | 11 | | For the two-year period beginning on the effective date of this Act, |
---|
12 | 12 | | the amount of $7,245,419,946 is appropriated to the comptroller of |
---|
13 | 13 | | public accounts from money received by this state from the |
---|
14 | 14 | | Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund (42 U.S.C. Section 802) |
---|
15 | 15 | | established under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (Pub. L. |
---|
16 | 16 | | No. 117-2) and deposited to the credit of the Coronavirus Relief |
---|
17 | 17 | | Fund No. 325, for deposit to the credit of the unemployment |
---|
18 | 18 | | compensation fund under Section 203.021, Labor Code, for the |
---|
19 | 19 | | purpose of paying back outstanding advances received by this state |
---|
20 | 20 | | under Section 1201, Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. Section 1321), |
---|
21 | 21 | | and returning the unemployment compensation fund to the statutory |
---|
22 | 22 | | floor computed under Section 204.061, Labor Code, on October 1, |
---|
23 | 23 | | 2021, as reimbursement for payments made as a result of the |
---|
24 | 24 | | coronavirus disease pandemic. |
---|
25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect |
---|
26 | 26 | | immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members |
---|
27 | 27 | | elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas |
---|
28 | 28 | | Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for |
---|
29 | 29 | | immediate effect, this Act takes effect on the 91st day after the |
---|
30 | 30 | | last day of the legislative session. |
