5	5	WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
6	6	meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
7	7	of Linda Gay Galbraith Wall of Magnolia, who passed away on July 20,
8	8	2020, at the age of 80; and
9	9	WHEREAS, The former Linda Galbraith was born in McCamey on
10	10	August 14, 1939, to Cecil and Lucy Galbraith; her family followed
11	11	her father's work in the oil and gas business, residing in Texas,
12	12	Oklahoma, and Kansas, before settling in the Houston suburb of West
13	13	University Place, where she attended Lamar High School; as an
14	14	active member of the youth ministry at West University Baptist
15	15	Church, she met her future husband, Joe Wall; the pair continued to
16	16	cross paths due to their involvement in the church, and after years
17	17	of blossoming romance, they exchanged wedding vows on August 20,
18	18	1960; the couple were blessed with two sons, Scot and Christopher,
19	19	and five precious grandchildren, Marissa, Caleb, Angel, Tyler, and
20	20	Thomas; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Over the course of their 60 years of marriage,
22	22	Mr. and Mrs. Wall were devoted partners in life and in ministry;
23	23	after earning her bachelor's degree and teaching certificate from
24	24	Sam Houston State University, Mrs. Wall taught in public schools to
25	25	support her husband while he completed his college and seminary
26	26	studies; she went on to minister alongside him at churches and
27	27	schools in Texas and in Colorado, and she served as a leader and a
28	28	spiritual mentor to a host of women's ministries; she also taught
29	29	English at Colorado Christian University while her husband served
30	30	as the university's president in the 1980s, and during the
31	31	following decade, she became engaged in a worldwide mission
32	32	ministry that involved training pastors' wives and other women in
33	33	the former Soviet Union; she and her husband later relocated to
34	34	Magnolia, where she contributed significantly to the women's
35	35	ministry at the new Magnolia Bible Church; and
36	36	WHEREAS, Linda Wall was beloved for her steadfast faith, her
37	37	warmth and kindness, and her generosity of spirit, and she will
38	38	forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those she leaves
39	39	behind; now, therefore, be it
40	40	RESOLVED, That the 87th Legislature of the State of Texas,
41	41	3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Linda Gay
42	42	Galbraith Wall and extend sincere sympathy to her family and
43	43	friends; and, be it further
44	44	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
45	45	prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
46	46	Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
47	47	Linda Wall.
