44 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
66 meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
77 of Linda Gay Galbraith Wall of Magnolia, who passed away on July 20,
88 2020, at the age of 80; and
99 WHEREAS, The former Linda Galbraith was born in McCamey on
1010 August 14, 1939, to Cecil and Lucy Galbraith; her family followed
1111 her father's work in the oil and gas business, residing in Texas,
1212 Oklahoma, and Kansas, before settling in the Houston suburb of West
1313 University Place, where she attended Lamar High School; as an
1414 active member of the youth ministry at West University Baptist
1515 Church, she met her future husband, Joe Wall; the pair continued to
1616 cross paths due to their involvement in the church, and after years
1717 of blossoming romance, they exchanged wedding vows on August 20,
1818 1960; the couple were blessed with two sons, Scot and Christopher,
1919 and five precious grandchildren, Marissa, Caleb, Angel, Tyler, and
2020 Thomas; and
2121 WHEREAS, Over the course of their 60 years of marriage,
2222 Mr. and Mrs. Wall were devoted partners in life and in ministry;
2323 after earning her bachelor's degree and teaching certificate from
2424 Sam Houston State University, Mrs. Wall taught in public schools to
2525 support her husband while he completed his college and seminary
2626 studies; she went on to minister alongside him at churches and
2727 schools in Texas and in Colorado, and she served as a leader and a
2828 spiritual mentor to a host of women's ministries; she also taught
2929 English at Colorado Christian University while her husband served
3030 as the university's president in the 1980s, and during the
3131 following decade, she became engaged in a worldwide mission
3232 ministry that involved training pastors' wives and other women in
3333 the former Soviet Union; she and her husband later relocated to
3434 Magnolia, where she contributed significantly to the women's
3535 ministry at the new Magnolia Bible Church; and
3636 WHEREAS, Linda Wall was beloved for her steadfast faith, her
3737 warmth and kindness, and her generosity of spirit, and she will
3838 forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those she leaves
3939 behind; now, therefore, be it
4040 RESOLVED, That the 87th Legislature of the State of Texas,
4141 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Linda Gay
4242 Galbraith Wall and extend sincere sympathy to her family and
4343 friends; and, be it further
4444 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4545 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4646 Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
4747 Linda Wall.
