2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

3 | 3 | | recognize June Yvonne Lundgren Creppon in honor of her 56 years |

4 | 4 | | of service as the organist for New Sweden Evangelical Lutheran |

5 | 5 | | Church in Travis County; and |
---|
6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A native of Elgin, Yvonne was born to June and |
---|
7 | 7 | | Roland Lundgren on February 28, 1942, and she began playing the |
---|
8 | 8 | | organ during her high school years; she was baptized, confirmed, |
---|
9 | 9 | | and married at New Sweden Evangelical Lutheran Church, and she |
---|
10 | 10 | | has been a lifelong member of the congregation; the church was |
---|
11 | 11 | | established in 1876 by Swedish immigrants, including her own |
---|
12 | 12 | | ancestors, and today, she is the longest-serving organist in the |
---|
13 | 13 | | church's history; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A gifted musician, Yvonne became the church's |
---|
15 | 15 | | organist in 1965, and she remained dedicated to this role |
---|
16 | 16 | | throughout her long career as a teacher in public schools; over |
---|
17 | 17 | | the years, she has provided musical accompaniment for countless |
---|
18 | 18 | | church services, weddings, funerals, and church programs, and |
---|
19 | 19 | | her beautiful organ music has been enjoyed and appreciated by |
---|
20 | 20 | | all; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Yvonne and her beloved husband, Ronnie Creppon, |
---|
22 | 22 | | were married on July 30, 1966; they were blessed with two |
---|
23 | 23 | | daughters, Suzanne, who married Chad Meads, and Rhonda, who |
---|
24 | 24 | | married Mike Grady; she is a loving grandmother to her five |
---|
25 | 25 | | grandchildren: Jack, Callie, and Avery Meads, and Jace and Keaton |
---|
26 | 26 | | Grady, who enrich her life immeasurably; she shares a close bond |
---|
27 | 27 | | and cherishes time spent with her sister, Sandra, and her |
---|
28 | 28 | | brother-in-law, Randy, who live in Round Rock; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, A woman of great talent, grace, and generosity, |
---|
30 | 30 | | Yvonne is a treasured member of her congregation and a distinguished |
---|
31 | 31 | | citizen of the Lone Star State; she can reflect with pride on more |
---|
32 | 32 | | than five decades as organist for New Sweden Evangelical Lutheran |
---|
33 | 33 | | Church and on her many outstanding contributions to her church and |
---|
34 | 34 | | her community; now, therefore, be it |

35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |

36 | 36 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend June Yvonne |

37 | 37 | | Lundgren Creppon on her exemplary commitment to serving the |

38 | 38 | | congregation of New Sweden Evangelical Lutheran Church and |
