No. 28 SENATE RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Atanacio "Nacho" Campos, who has been honored with a Living Legends of New Braunfels Award by the Braunfels Foundation Trust; and WHEREAS, Each year, the Braunfels Foundation Trust hosts a celebratory luncheon and honors the recipients of the Living Legends of New Braunfels Award, which recognizes a select few individuals who have dedicated years of outstanding support to the people, institutions, and history of New Braunfels; and WHEREAS, A native of New Braunfels, Nacho Campos earned his law degree from The University of Texas at Austin and began operating his legal practice in the capital city; in 1984, he returned to his hometown, and he quickly became engaged in volunteer activities and adopted a passion for serving the local community; and WHEREAS, Mr. Campos held numerous leadership positions throughout 20 years of exemplary service as a member of the New Braunfels Utilities Board of Trustees, and during his tenure, the utilities company increased its capacity in every area; he is a founding member of the Headwaters at the Comal, a nonprofit organization that helps to shape a vision for environmental stewardship and conservation, and he is the inspiration for the Atanacio Campos Volunteer Award, which is bestowed annually to honor a volunteer committed to the organization's mission and to serving the community; he has further served the New Braunfels community through his work on numerous civic committees and advisory boards; and WHEREAS, Mr. Campos has helped the City of New Braunfels to flourish through his devoted civic service, and it is indeed fitting that he receive special recognition for his invaluable contributions to the community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend congratulations to Nacho Campos on receiving the Living Legends of New Braunfels Award; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
