2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize Atanacio "Nacho" Campos, who has been honored with a
4	8		Living Legends of New Braunfels Award by the Braunfels Foundation
5	9		Trust; and
6	10		WHEREAS, Each year, the Braunfels Foundation Trust hosts a
7	11		celebratory luncheon and honors the recipients of the Living
8	12		Legends of New Braunfels Award, which recognizes a select few
9	13		individuals who have dedicated years of outstanding support to
10	14		the people, institutions, and history of New Braunfels; and
11		-	WHEREAS, A native of New Braunfels, Nacho Campos earned ~~his~~
12		-	law degree from The University of Texas at Austin and began

14	18		returned to his hometown, and he quickly became engaged in

17	21		WHEREAS, Mr. Campos held numerous leadership positions
18	22		throughout 20 years of exemplary service as a member of the New
19	23		Braunfels Utilities Board of Trustees, and during his tenure, the
20	24		utilities company increased its capacity in every area; he is a
21	25		founding member of the Headwaters at the Comal, a nonprofit
22	26		organization that helps to shape a vision for environmental
23	27		stewardship and conservation, and he is the inspiration for the
24	28		Atanacio Campos Volunteer Award, which is bestowed annually to
25	29		honor a volunteer committed to the organization's mission and to
26	30		serving the community; he has further served the New Braunfels
27	31		community through his work on numerous civic committees and
28	32		advisory boards; and
29		-	WHEREAS, Mr. Campos has helped the City of New Braunfels to
30		-	flourish through his devoted civic service, and it is indeed

35	39		to Nacho Campos on receiving the Living Legends of New Braunfels
36	40		Award; and, be it further
37	41		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
38	42		him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
