5 | 6 | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | |
6 | 7 | commemorates the life of Jesusa F. Gomez, who died August 19, | |

8 | 9 | WHEREAS, This treasured citizen was born in Yorktown, | |
9 | 10 | Texas, on August 12, 1921; she lost her mother at the young age of | |
10 | 11 | six, and she helped her father to raise her younger siblings; and | |
11 | - | WHEREAS, Jesusa shared a life of devotion with her | |
12 | - | the late Valdemar Gomez; she raised their five children | |
13 | - | example, and her 13 grandchildren and 19 | |
14 | - | enriched her life immeasurably; and | |

24 | 25 | in 2003, she and Mr. Gomez were honored as the San Juan Man and | |
