11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 45
22 WHEREAS, Dr. Lawrence L. Anderson retired as chief medical
33 officer of U.S. Dermatology Partners in Tyler in April 2020,
44 concluding an exemplary career with the organization that
55 spanned nearly two and a half decades; and
66 WHEREAS, Dr. Anderson first joined U.S. Dermatology
77 Partners in 1996, and over the course of his tenure, he provided
88 comprehensive care to countless patients; he specialized in
99 treating skin cancer through Mohs surgical techniques, and he
1010 further distinguished himself as a skilled and compassionate
1111 leader in his roles as medical director and chief medical
1212 officer; and
1313 WHEREAS, Highly respected by his peers, Dr. Anderson has
1414 served on a number of civic and professional boards, including
1515 the Texas Medical Board, and he is a fellow of the American
1616 College of Physicians and the American College of Mohs
1717 Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology; he has also
1818 authored dozens of articles on various medical subjects, and he
1919 has been recognized by Texas Monthly as one of the state's "Super
2020 Doctors" numerous times; and
2121 WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure with U.S. Dermatology
2222 Partners, Dr. Anderson served in the U.S. Army for 16 years,
2323 holding such posts as chief of ambulatory care at Fort McPherson
2424 and chief of medicine and dermatology at Fort Hood; a cum laude
2525 graduate of Washington State University, he received his doctor
2626 of medicine degree from Uniformed Services University and
2727 completed his dermatology training and a surgical fellowship at
2828 Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio; and
2929 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Dr. Anderson enjoys the
3030 love and support of his wife, Dr. Svetislava Vukelja, with whom
3131 he has shared a rewarding marriage that has spanned three
3232 decades, and he takes great pride in their children, Maxi and
3333 Boris; and
3434 WHEREAS, Dr. Lawrence Anderson's care and expertise have
3535 greatly benefited his patients and earned him the lasting
3636 admiration of his colleagues, and he may indeed reflect with
3737 pride on his notable record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
3838 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
3939 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate
4040 Dr. Lawrence L. Anderson on his retirement as chief medical
4141 officer of U.S. Dermatology Partners and extend to him sincere
4242 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
4343 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
4444 prepared for Dr. Anderson as an expression of high regard from
4545 the Texas Senate.
