2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lawrence L. Anderson retired as chief medical |

3 | 3 | | officer of U.S. Dermatology Partners in Tyler in April 2020, |

4 | 4 | | concluding an exemplary career with the organization that |

5 | 5 | | spanned nearly two and a half decades; and |
---|
6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Anderson first joined U.S. Dermatology |
---|
7 | 7 | | Partners in 1996, and over the course of his tenure, he provided |
---|
8 | 8 | | comprehensive care to countless patients; he specialized in |
---|
9 | 9 | | treating skin cancer through Mohs surgical techniques, and he |
---|
10 | 10 | | further distinguished himself as a skilled and compassionate |
---|
11 | 11 | | leader in his roles as medical director and chief medical |
---|
12 | 12 | | officer; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Highly respected by his peers, Dr. Anderson has |
---|
14 | 14 | | served on a number of civic and professional boards, including |
---|
15 | 15 | | the Texas Medical Board, and he is a fellow of the American |
---|
16 | 16 | | College of Physicians and the American College of Mohs |
---|
17 | 17 | | Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology; he has also |
---|
18 | 18 | | authored dozens of articles on various medical subjects, and he |
---|
19 | 19 | | has been recognized by Texas Monthly as one of the state's "Super |
---|
20 | 20 | | Doctors" numerous times; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Prior to his tenure with U.S. Dermatology |
---|
22 | 22 | | Partners, Dr. Anderson served in the U.S. Army for 16 years, |
---|
23 | 23 | | holding such posts as chief of ambulatory care at Fort McPherson |
---|
24 | 24 | | and chief of medicine and dermatology at Fort Hood; a cum laude |
---|
25 | 25 | | graduate of Washington State University, he received his doctor |
---|
26 | 26 | | of medicine degree from Uniformed Services University and |
---|
27 | 27 | | completed his dermatology training and a surgical fellowship at |
---|
28 | 28 | | Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Dr. Anderson enjoys the |
---|
30 | 30 | | love and support of his wife, Dr. Svetislava Vukelja, with whom |
---|
31 | 31 | | he has shared a rewarding marriage that has spanned three |
---|
32 | 32 | | decades, and he takes great pride in their children, Maxi and |
---|
33 | 33 | | Boris; and |
---|
34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lawrence Anderson's care and expertise have |
---|
35 | 35 | | greatly benefited his patients and earned him the lasting |
---|
36 | 36 | | admiration of his colleagues, and he may indeed reflect with |
---|
37 | 37 | | pride on his notable record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
---|
38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
---|
39 | 39 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate |
---|
40 | 40 | | Dr. Lawrence L. Anderson on his retirement as chief medical |
---|
41 | 41 | | officer of U.S. Dermatology Partners and extend to him sincere |

42 | 42 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
