| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Tom Hart, who is retiring as city manager of Grand |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Prairie after 22 years of exemplary service in the position and a |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | long career of civic leadership; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Tom Hart has effectively served as city manager of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Grand Prairie since 1999; over the last two decades, he has led |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the city through an era of incredible growth and development that |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | has helped the community to earn the distinction of one of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | best places to live and retire in the nation; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Under Mr. Hart's leadership, Grand Prairie has |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | benefited from numerous projects that have improved the quality |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of life for citizens and have inspired more than 80,000 new |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | residents to join the community; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hart's many achievements as city manager |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | include organizing a nationally recognized police department and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | modernizing the city's emergency service infrastructure; he has |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | overseen the construction of many new cultural centers, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | recreation destinations, and civic-service buildings, and he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | recently steered an approved bond proposal for a massive |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | expansion of the Epic Central center that will help foster the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | city's reputation as a world-class hub for entertainment and the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | arts; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Widely esteemed for his innovative leadership, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Tom Hart has earned numerous accolades for his tireless work on |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | behalf of Grand Prairie and its citizens, and he has ensured that |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the City of Grand Prairie will remain a model community as it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | continues to meet the demands of modern society; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Tom Hart for his |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | outstanding leadership as Grand Prairie city manager and for his |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | many contributions to the community and extend to him best wishes |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
