2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	join the Guadalupe Valley Young Marines and Texans across the
4	4	state in celebrating the last week of October, 2021, as Red
5	5	Ribbon Week; and
6	6	WHEREAS, The mission of the Young Marines program is to
7	7	develop good citizenship and promote a healthy, drug-free
8	8	lifestyle among young people; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Drug awareness and education play a vital role in
10	10	the Young Marines' fight against illicit drug use and
11	11	trafficking; the young men and women in this outstanding
12	12	organization work diligently during Red Ribbon Week to educate
13	13	others and to raise awareness of the dangers associated with drug
14	14	use; and
15	15	WHEREAS, Red Ribbon Week provides an opportunity for all
16	16	citizens to make a difference in the lives of young people by
17	17	helping to educate them about the consequences of illegal drug
18	18	use; now, therefore, be it
19	19	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
20	20	Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the Guadalupe
21	21	Valley Young Marines on their commitment to reducing drug usage
22	22	and trafficking and extend to them best wishes for a productive
23	23	and memorable Red Ribbon Week in 2021; and, be it further
24	24	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
25	25	this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the
26	26	Texas Senate.
