5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |

6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Norma Helaine Clark Moore, who died |
---|
7 | 7 | | July 25, 2021, at the age of 74; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Norma Moore was born on July 8, 1947, in Laredo; |
---|
9 | 9 | | she was a member of the first graduating class of J. W. Nixon High |
---|
10 | 10 | | School, where she was voted Most Popular and served as cohead |
---|
11 | 11 | | cheerleader; she went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Texas |
---|
12 | 12 | | Christian University and a master's degree from the University of |
---|
13 | 13 | | Saint Francis; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, She and her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, |
---|
15 | 15 | | the late Joseph Moore, were blessed with four sons, Monte, |
---|
16 | 16 | | William, Clark, and Robert Moore; her seven grandchildren, |
---|
17 | 17 | | Lauren, Ryan, Cait, Christen, Susan, Norman, and Charlie, were a |
---|
18 | 18 | | source of much pride and joy for her; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Moore enjoyed a distinguished career as an |
---|
20 | 20 | | educator at Laredo College; she was also a successful retailer of |
---|
21 | 21 | | designer women's clothing and fine jewelry; she was active in a |
---|
22 | 22 | | wide range of community organizations, including the |
---|
23 | 23 | | Washington's Birthday Celebration Association, the Society of |
---|
24 | 24 | | Martha Washington, and many others; she was a tireless advocate |
---|
25 | 25 | | for numerous nonprofit groups; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she will |
---|
27 | 27 | | long be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and deep |
---|
28 | 28 | | religious faith, and she leaves behind memories that will be |
---|
29 | 29 | | treasured forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, |
---|
30 | 30 | | be it |

31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |

32 | 32 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend sincere |

33 | 33 | | condolences to the bereaved family of Norma Helaine Clark Moore; |
