5	5	WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with
6	6	the passing of the Honorable Dale Edward Moran of Whitehouse on
7	7	September 30, 2020, at the age of 76; and
8	8	WHEREAS, The son of Kenneth and Cleo Moran and brother of
9	9	David, Patrick, Paul, and Michael, Dale Moran was born in
10	10	Stewardson, Illinois, on July 5, 1944; during his youth, he took
11	11	on a number of jobs in his hometown, and he participated in the
12	12	Boy Scouts of America; and
13	13	WHEREAS, After graduating from high school in 1962,
14	14	Mr. Moran enrolled in Miracle Valley Bible College in Southern
15	15	Arizona, where he later held three summer tent revivals; he went
16	16	on to join the college as a professor and dean of students, and he
17	17	played an instrumental role in establishing another location in
18	18	Tyler; he subsequently served as the administrator at East Texas
19	19	Bible College, and in the mid-1980s, he became the general
20	20	manager of the Reverend R. W. Schambach's ministry; he further
21	21	distinguished himself as a Sunday school teacher and pastor; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Mr. Moran served three terms as mayor of
23	23	Whitehouse and two terms on the city council, and he contributed
24	24	to a number of initiatives, including Keep Whitehouse Beautiful
25	25	and an advisory board for local nursing facilities; he was also
26	26	appointed to the East Texas Regional Review Committee by Governor
27	27	George W. Bush in 1996; and
28	28	WHEREAS, A successful entrepreneur as well, Mr. Moran
29	29	founded Moran Munchies in 1989, and his son, Patrick Moran,
30	30	joined the company soon after; today, the business is known as
31	31	Moran Refreshments, and it has become one of the largest
32	32	independent vending companies in East Texas; and
33	33	WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Moran benefited from
34	34	the love and support of his wife, the former Marjorie McCall,
35	35	with whom he shared a rewarding marriage that spanned five and a
36	36	half decades; in addition to Patrick, they were blessed with
37	37	three other sons, Christopher, Daniel, and Nathaniel, and a
38	38	daughter, the late Shannon Moran; over the years, Mr. Moran had
39	39	the pleasure of welcoming into his family 16 grandchildren and a
40	40	great-grandson; and
41	41	WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his faith, and his
42	42	community, Dale Moran earned the lasting respect and admiration
43	43	of all who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
44	44	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
45	45	Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
46	46	of the Honorable Dale Edward Moran and extend heartfelt sympathy
47	47	to his family and many friends; and, be it further
48	48	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
49	49	prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
50	50	this day, it do so in memory of Dale Moran.
