5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	6	commemorates the life of Michael Cao-Truong Nguyen, who died
7	7	October 16, 2021, at the age of 21; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Michael Nguyen was born on December 16, 1999, in
9	9	Arlington, Texas; he attended Ellis Elementary School, Nichols
10	10	Junior High School, and Lamar High School, and he flourished
11	11	academically and was well-loved by friends and classmates; he was
12	12	among the top-12 students in his graduating class at Lamar High
13	13	School, where he was involved in a wide variety of activities
14	14	that included playing on the varsity basketball team and singing
15	15	in the choir; he was noted for his warm and welcoming smile and
16	16	for his sincere care and compassion for others; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Michael attended The University of Texas at
18	18	Arlington, and he looked forward to completing his degree and
19	19	graduating in December of 2021; he planned to pursue a career as a
20	20	physician assistant after college, and he was driven to achieve
21	21	his goals by his desire to help others and to create a positive
22	22	difference in the world; and
23	23	WHEREAS, He was deeply devoted to his Christian faith, and he
24	24	took joy in celebrating and sharing his spirituality through music;
25	25	he was a gifted singer and musician, and he sang and played the piano
26	26	as a member of two Christian worship bands; he served as a leader in
27	27	the Eucharistic Youth Group at Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church in
28	28	Arlington, and in 2021, he released a musical album titled "Found
29	29	Me," which serves as a testament to the fulfillment and spiritual
30	30	peace his faith provided him in his life; and
31	31	WHEREAS, Above all, Michael cherished time spent with his
32	32	family, and he shared a close bond with his immediate family and
33	33	with the members of his extended family; he was a source of
34	34	bountiful happiness and hope to his loved ones and friends, and
35	35	he filled the lives of those around him with laughter, light, and
36	36	music; his kind, generous, and joyful spirit leaves a worthy
37	37	example for others to follow, and his memory will be forever
38	38	treasured by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
39	39	therefore, be it
40	40	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
41	41	Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
42	42	condolences to the bereaved family of Michael Cao-Truong Nguyen;
43	43	and, be it further
44	44	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
45	45	his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
46	46	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
47	47	memory of Michael Nguyen.
