88 AN ACT
99 relating to the hours of work of certain county employees.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 157.021(a), Local Government Code, is
1212 amended to read as follows:
1313 (a) In a county with a population of 350,000 [355,000] or
1414 more, the commissioners court may adopt and enforce uniform rules
1515 on the hours of work of department heads, assistants, deputies, and
1616 other employees whose compensation is set or approved by the court.
1717 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1818 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1919 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2020 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2121 Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
