55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the content of certain biennial legislative reports on
88 immunizations issued by the Department of State Health Services.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 161.0074(d), Health and Safety Code, is
1111 amended to read as follows:
1212 (d) In [If a public health disaster was declared under
1313 Chapter 81 during the preceding two years, in] addition to the
1414 information required under Subsection (c), for immunizations that
1515 immunize an individual against a [the] communicable disease
1616 [subject to the declaration] the report must:
1717 (1) include information by county on the accessibility
1818 to the immunizations of county residents by age, race, disability,
1919 and geographic location, provided the information does not
2020 personally identify any individual;
2121 (2) identify and assess disparities in access to the
2222 immunizations by age, race, disability, and geographic location,
2323 including an assessment of immunization accessibility in each
2424 county;
2525 (3) include the estimated economic benefit to this
2626 state of reducing disparities in immunization accessibility;
2727 (4) include recommendations for reducing disparities
2828 in immunization accessibility; and
2929 (5) include recommendations for legislative action to
3030 increase immunization rates.
3131 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3232 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3333 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3434 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3535 Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
