77 relating to the reimbursement of residents of public housing
88 authorities for certain losses resulting from a disaster.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 392, Local Government
1111 Code, is amended by adding Section 392.068 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 392.068. PROGRAM FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN RESIDENT
1313 EXPENSES. A housing authority shall adopt a program that uses any
1414 available funds to reimburse residents of the authority's housing
1515 facilities for medication or medical equipment that was:
1616 (1) partially or fully paid for by or provided through
1717 a governmental assistance program, including Medicare or Medicaid;
1818 and
1919 (2) damaged or destroyed as the result of a disaster,
2020 including an extended power outage.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
