6 | 6 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

7 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Section 130.168, Education Code, is amended to |
---|
8 | 8 | | read as follows: |
---|
9 | 9 | | Sec. 130.168. BLINN JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT SERVICE AREA. |
---|
10 | 10 | | The service area of the Blinn College District includes the |
---|
11 | 11 | | territory within: |
---|
12 | 12 | | (1) Washington, Burleson, Brazos, Madison, Grimes, |
---|
13 | 13 | | and Waller Counties [counties]; |
---|
14 | 14 | | (2) the Mumford, Hearne, and Franklin Independent |
---|
15 | 15 | | School Districts [independent school districts] located in |
---|
16 | 16 | | Robertson County; |
---|
17 | 17 | | (3) Austin County, other than the territory within the |
---|
18 | 18 | | Wallis-Orchard Independent School District; |
---|
19 | 19 | | (4) the Milano and Gause Independent School Districts |
---|
20 | 20 | | [independent school districts] located in Milam County; |
---|
21 | 21 | | (5) the part of the Richards Independent School |
---|
22 | 22 | | District that is located in Walker and Montgomery Counties |
---|
23 | 23 | | [counties]; |
---|
24 | 24 | | (6) the part of the Bryan Independent School District |
---|
25 | 25 | | that is located in Robertson County; |
---|
26 | 26 | | (7) Fayette County, other than the territory within |
---|
27 | 27 | | the Smithville Independent School District; |

28 | 28 | | (8) Lee County, other than the territory within the |
---|
29 | 29 | | Elgin Independent School District; [and] |

30 | 30 | | (9) the part of the Lexington Independent School |

31 | 31 | | District that is located in Bastrop, Milam, and Williamson |

33 | 33 | | (10) the part of the Waller Independent School |

34 | 34 | | District that is located in Harris County [counties]. |

35 | 35 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
36 | 36 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
37 | 37 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
38 | 38 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
39 | 39 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
