| 7 | 7 | | relating to the salary reclassification of certain positions with |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the Texas Department of Insurance State Fire Marshal's Office. |

| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. The classification officer in the office of the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | state auditor shall reclassify the following positions with the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Texas State Fire Marshal's Office of the Texas Department of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Insurance under the Texas Position Classification Plan, 1961: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (1) the positions of Investigator V, Investigator VI, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and Sergeant shall be reclassified as salary group C4 positions; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (2) the positions of Investigator VII and Lieutenant |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | shall be reclassified as salary group C5 positions; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (3) the positions of Manager IV and Captain shall be |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | reclassified as salary group C6 positions. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. The changes made by the classification officer |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | as required by Section 1 of this Act apply beginning in the state |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | fiscal biennium beginning September 1, 2023. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 3. This Act expires September 1, 2025. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
