                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD     Austin, Texas       FISCAL NOTE, 88TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION             April 30, 2023       TO: Honorable Victoria Neave Criado, Chair, House Committee on County Affairs     FROM: Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board      IN RE: HB1247 by Harris, Cody (relating to regulation of food service establishments, retail food stores, mobile food units, roadside food vendors, temporary food service establishments, and food managers.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted     No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. The bill would require the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to establish and maintain a registry on the agency's website for copies of orders required to be submitted by municipalities or  public health districts for inclusion in the registry. The agency would require one-time application and system modifications to the Regulatory Automation System and auxiliary technology services. It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.  Local Government ImpactLocal governments and health jurisdictions may experience a negative impact due to increased responsibilities and prohibition of certain fees. The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time.
