5	5	relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 19 as the
6	6	Mildred McMillan Garrett Memorial Bridge.
7	7	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
8	8	SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code,
9	9	is amended by adding Section 225.216 to read as follows:
10	10	Sec. 225.216. MILDRED MCMILLAN GARRETT MEMORIAL BRIDGE.
11	11	(a) The State Highway 19 bridge crossing Lake Fork Reservoir in
12	12	Rains County is designated as the Mildred McMillan Garrett Memorial
13	13	Bridge.
14	14	(b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall:
15	15	(1) design and construct markers indicating the
16	16	designation as the Mildred McMillan Garrett Memorial Bridge and any
17	17	other appropriate information; and
18	18	(2) erect a marker at each end of the bridge.
19	19	SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
