| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 912.002(b), Insurance Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (b) A county mutual insurance company is subject to: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (1) Sections 38.001, 401.051, 401.052, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 401.054-401.062, 401.151, 401.152, 401.155, 401.156, 501.159, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 501.202, 501.203, 822.204, 1806.001, 1806.101, 1806.103(b), |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 1806.104-1806.107, 1953.051(b), 2002.002, and 2002.005; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (2) Subchapter A, Chapter 86; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (3) Subchapter A, Chapter 401; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (4) the provisions of Subchapter B, Chapter 424, other |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | than Sections 424.052, 424.072, and 424.073; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (5) Chapters 221, 251, 252, 254, 541, and 2210; [and] |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (6) Subchapter C, Chapter 1952; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (7) Articles 5.39 and 5.40. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. Section 2301.053(b), Insurance Code, is amended |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (b) Each form for a personal automobile insurance policy |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | must provide the coverages mandated under: |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (1) Subchapter [Subchapters] C, Chapter 1952; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (2) Subchapter D, Chapter 1952, unless the coverage is |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | [coverages are] rejected by the named insured in the manner |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | provided by that subchapter [those subchapters]. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | SECTION 3. Section 1952.101(c), Insurance Code, is |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | repealed. |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | SECTION 4. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | to an insurance policy that is delivered, issued for delivery, or |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | renewed on or after January 1, 2024. A policy delivered, issued for |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | delivery, or renewed before January 1, 2024, is governed by the law |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | as it existed immediately before the effective date of this Act, and |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | that law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | SECTION 5. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
