7 | 7 | | relating to continuing education for barbers and cosmetologists on |

8 | 8 | | identifying and assisting victims of sexual assault, domestic |

9 | 9 | | violence, and human trafficking. |

10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 1603, Occupations Code, is |
---|
12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 1603.302 to read as follows: |
---|
13 | 13 | | Sec. 1603.302. CONTINUING EDUCATION REGARDING SEXUAL |
---|
14 | 14 | | ASSAULT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING. The commission |
---|
15 | 15 | | shall adopt rules requiring a license holder to complete continuing |
---|
16 | 16 | | education on identifying and assisting victims of: |
---|
17 | 17 | | (1) sexual assault; |
---|
18 | 18 | | (2) domestic violence; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | (3) human trafficking. |
---|
20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date |
---|
21 | 21 | | of this Act, the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation shall |
---|
22 | 22 | | adopt the rules required by Section 1603.302, Occupations Code, as |
---|
23 | 23 | | added by this Act. |
---|
24 | 24 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
