| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 2054.0565, Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | by adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (a-1) The awarding of a shared technology services contract |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | under this section for software, hardware, or technology services |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | must comply with Section 2157.068(e-1). |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | a contract for which a state agency first advertises or otherwise |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | solicits offers, bids, proposals, qualifications, or other |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | applicable expressions of interest on or after the effective date |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of this Act. A contract for which a state agency first advertises |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | or otherwise solicits offers, bids, proposals, qualifications, or |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | other applicable expressions of interest before the effective date |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | of this Act is governed by the law as it existed immediately before |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the effective date of this Act, and that law is continued in effect |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | for that purpose. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
