| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. The heading to Section 61.011, Election Code, is |

| 10 | 10 | | amended to read as follows: |

| 11 | 11 | | Sec. 61.011. [REMOVING] WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS [FOUND] IN |

| 12 | 12 | | POLLING PLACE. |

| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 2. Section 61.011, Election Code, is amended by |

| 14 | 14 | | adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |

| 15 | 15 | | (c) Voters may bring marked sample ballots and other written |

| 16 | 16 | | communications to their voting stations. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
