9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 662.003(c), Government Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (c) An "optional holiday" includes only: | |
13 | 13 | (1) the days on which Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, or | |
14 | 14 | Good Friday fall; | |
15 | 15 | (2) one day of the Diwali festival selected by the | |
16 | 16 | state employee observing the optional holiday; and | |
17 | 17 | (3) one day of the Dashain festival selected by the | |
18 | 18 | state employee observing the optional holiday [falls]. | |
19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
