| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 3100.101, Government Code, is amended to |

| 9 | 9 | | read as follows: |

| 10 | 10 | | Sec. 3100.101. PLEDGE. The pledge of allegiance to the |

| 11 | 11 | | state flag is: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible. God bless Texas!" |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
