| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is |

| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 552.1178 to read as follows: |

| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 552.1178. CONFIDENTIALITY OF CERTAIN INFORMATION |

| 13 | 13 | | MAINTAINED BY TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY. (a) In this section, |

| 14 | 14 | | "educator" has the meaning assigned by Section 5.001, Education |

| 15 | 15 | | Code. |

| 16 | 16 | | (b) Information maintained by the Texas Education Agency |

| 17 | 17 | | that relates to the home address, home telephone number, emergency |

| 18 | 18 | | contact information, date of birth, or social security number of an |

| 19 | 19 | | educator, or that reveals whether an educator has family members, |

| 20 | 20 | | is confidential and excepted from the requirements of Section |

| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
