| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 659.015(k), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | (k) Compensatory time off to which an employee of [a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | correctional officer employed by] the Texas Department of Criminal |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Justice is entitled under Subsection (f) must be taken during the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 24-month period following the end of the workweek in which the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | compensatory time was accrued or it lapses. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
