| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 1301, Occupations Code, is |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | amended by adding Section 1301.059 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Sec. 1301.059. WORK PERFORMED ON CERTAIN PRIVATE PROPERTY. |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (a) A person is not required to be licensed under this chapter to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | perform work consisting of installing, servicing, or repairing |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | service mains or service lines that provide water, sewer, or storm |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | drainage services on private property in an area that extends from a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | public right-of-way or public easement to not less than five feet |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | from a building or structure. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (b) This section does not apply to plumbing work performed |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | on private property designated for use as a one-family or |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | two-family dwelling. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
