| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 48, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 48.0061 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 48.0061. ENROLLMENT-BASED FUNDING DURING DISASTER. |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Notwithstanding any other provision of this subchapter, for the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | 90-day period following the date on which a disaster area is |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | specified in a declaration of disaster under Chapter 418, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Government Code, the commissioner shall provide funding under |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Chapter 46 and this chapter to a school district located wholly or |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | partly in the disaster area on the basis of the average number of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | students enrolled in the district during that period. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
