| 6 | 6 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 7 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | amended by adding Section 662.085 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Sec. 662.085. SPECIAL FORCES DAY. (a) June 28 is Special |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Forces Day in honor of the men and women who have served in the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | special operations forces of the United States armed forces. |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (b) Special Forces Day shall be regularly observed by |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | appropriate ceremonies. |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
