| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 44, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | amended by adding Section 44.045 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Sec. 44.045. DISCLOSURE OF CONTRACTS NOT COMPETITIVELY |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | PROCURED. (a) The board of trustees of a school district shall |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | post on the district's Internet website information regarding each |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | contract for which the district did not use a competitive |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | procurement method to select a vendor. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (b) The information required under Subsection (a) must |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | include: |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (1) the amount to be paid by the district under the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | contract; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (2) the person to whom the contract is awarded; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (3) the duration of the contract. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
